Basketball Game Preview: Munday Moguls vs. Northside Indians

Munday has gone a perfect 10-0 against Northside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Munday Moguls will welcome the Northside Indians at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Munday's favor as the team sits on 15 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Northside has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Munday beat Benjamin 61-53.

Jariyis Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high. Mance Phillips was another key player, going 6-for-11 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Munday smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Northside hadn't done well against Crowell recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Northside skirted past Crowell 41-38.

Northside's win came from a few key players Munday will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Adam Matthews, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 12 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Ford, who posted 13 points.

Munday is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games. As for Northside, their victory bumped their record up to 7-17.

Munday strolled past Northside when the teams last played back in January by a score of 52-33. Does Munday have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
