16 must be Dinwiddie's lucky number: they beat Hopewell with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Generals didn't even let the Blue Devils on the board, marking the Generals' second-straight 16-0 shutout. Considering the Generals have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addison Everett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dinwiddie let Kailie Bookman and Charleigh Davis run wild. Bookman got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI, while Davis went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Nala Bain, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.

Dinwiddie hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Dinwiddie's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Hopewell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Dinwiddie will challenge rival Colonial Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Generals 2.6, the Colonials 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Hopewell is set to face off against their familiar foe Petersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
