A. Acosta was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was K. Gomez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Knox City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Harrold 11-1 on Friday.
Naveah Martinez was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Kinlee Eaton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Knox City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
Knox City pushed their record up to 5-6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Northside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.
Knox City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Northside has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Knox City, though, as they've been averaging 12.8 hits. Given Northside's sizable advantage in that area, the Greyhounds will need to find a way to close that gap.
