Algona's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Mason City Riverhawks as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Algona pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Mason City, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Riverhawks beat Algona by a score of 3-2 later that day.
