Sioux County blew past Guernsey-Sunrise 50-30. The win was all the more spectacular given Sioux County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 265th in Nebraska, while Guernsey-Sunrise is ranked 58th in Wyoming).
Sioux County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shane Gluth, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cy Hughson, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Sioux County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-15 record this season. As for Guernsey-Sunrise, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Sioux County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hyannis. Hyannis will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Sioux County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Guernsey-Sunrise, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-44 defeat vs. Banner County on the 9th.
