The Suwannee Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 87-65 loss at the hands of Godby. While losing is never fun, Suwannee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Godby is ranked 42nd).
Godby found their leader in underclassman Jaden Staten, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekhi Butler, who scored 11 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Suwannee and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Godby, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Suwannee will take on Hamilton County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Godby, they will head out on the road to face off against Andrew Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Andrew Jackson has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
