Evansville Christian found their leader in underclassman Hallie Higgs, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Higgs hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Grubb, who scored eight points.
Cannelton's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Evansville Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cannelton will square off against Columbus Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbus Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Evansville Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Evansville Bosse at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Evansville Bosse comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
