The Northfield Nighthawks waltzed into their game  Wednesday with five straight wins  but they left with six. They came out on top against Westminster by a score of  54-43. Given Northfield's advantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings  (they are ranked 22nd, while Westminster is ranked 102nd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Nashara Ellerbee, who  scored 19 points along with eight  rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her.  Laporsha Allen was another key contributor,  scoring 14 points along with six  rebounds.
 Northfield's victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Westminster, they are  on a three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-8.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northfield will take on Skyview at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Westminster, they will be playing at home against Mountain Vista at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
