Winning always takes teamwork, but on Tuesday David Nehls stepped things up a notch to give Lake Country Lutheran the 'W'. Brookfield Academy had no answer to Nehls as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Nehls has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

Nehls' effort led Lake Country Lutheran over Brookfield Academy and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lightning are 8-2 against the Blue Knights going back to April of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
