South Williamsport is 9-1 against Bucktail since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The South Williamsport Mountaineers will be home for the holidays to greet the Bucktail Bucks at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully South Williamsport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, South Williamsport came up short against Midd-West and fell 65-52.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Caleb Neidig, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Radley Knapp, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Even though Bucktail has not done well against Sullivan County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bucktail managed a 58-54 win over Sullivan County. The win was just what Bucktail needed coming off of a 69-30 loss in their prior game.
South Williamsport's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bucktail, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything came up roses for South Williamsport against Bucktail in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 73-43 victory. Will South Williamsport repeat their success, or does Bucktail have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
