The Cameron Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Cameron earned an 11-6 victory over Midland Trail.
Soier Reed was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Reed was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Zayde Long was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greater Beckley Christian). They put the hurt on Summit Christian Academy with a sharp 19-12 win on Friday. With that victory, the Crusaders brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.
Greater Beckley Christian let Kaden Bolen and Paul Fox run wild. Bolen went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Fox got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Nguyen, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Greater Beckley Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Greater Beckley Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Cameron, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cameron has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greater Beckley Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
