Everything went their way against the Heritage Generals on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bobcats considering their two-run performance the game before.
Braley Stewart was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Gilmer got a big performance out of Lily Fortune, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Fortune has posted since back in September of 2024. Jaylee McDaniel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Gilmer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Gilmer now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Heritage, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Looking ahead, Heritage is taking a road trip to square off against Ringgold at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilmer will be paying especially close attention to the Generals' match: after the Generals face off against the Tigers, they'll take on Gilmer again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
