Football Recap: Ayden - Grifton Drops Highest Score of Season Against North Lenoir

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ayden - Grifton). They blew past the North Lenoir Hawks 38-13 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Ayden - Grifton had a senior duo take command as Nygel Morgan picked up 149 receiving yards and a pair of scores and John Fields threw for 230 yards and two TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. Morgan's longest reception was for an incredible 94 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Loyalty Fuller, who gained 73 total yards and a touchdown.

Ayden - Grifton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for North Lenoir, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Ayden - Grifton is taking a road trip to take on D.H. Conley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.25 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Lenoir, they will host SouthWest Edgecombe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Hawks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
