In what's become a running theme this season, the Spring Valley Vikings gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Fort Mill with a sharp 60-35 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Spring Valley.
Spring Valley was led to victory by Zie'l Ratchford and Mariana Moody. Ratchford scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals, while Moody scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Moody is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Emory Smith was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Spring Valley pushed their record up to 13-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Fort Mill, Clover, and Nation Ford. As for Fort Mill, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Valley will take on the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nation Ford has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for Fort Mill, they will be playing at home against the Blue Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Clover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
