The StoneBridge Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 65-45 loss at the hands of Hampton Christian Academy. StoneBridge has not had much luck with Hampton Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
StoneBridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Thompson, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Garrett Maye, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Sean O'Connor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hampton Christian Academy, scoring 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khristian Peebles, who scored ten points along with five assists.
StoneBridge has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Hampton Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3.
StoneBridge will head out on the road to take on Portsmouth Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portsmouth Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Hampton Christian Academy, Hampton Christian Academy and Atlantic Shores Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
