The Victoria Knights came into Thursday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 38-33 W over LaCrosse on Thursday. The win was just what Victoria needed coming off of a 65-22 loss in their prior matchup.
Victoria's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennidy Amrein, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Amrein is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Dinkel, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Several Leopards players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clara Thielenhaus, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Morgan, who scored 14 points.
Victoria's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for LaCrosse, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Victoria is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Ellinwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday. As for LaCrosse, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars on Saturday. Otis-Bison is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
