Fillmore Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Thursday, Fillmore Central suffered a tough 70-49 defeat at the hands of Plainview-Elgin-Millville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fillmore Central in their matchups with Plainview-Elgin-Millville: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Wabasha-Kellogg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Mabel-Canton 66-64. The win was just what Wabasha-Kellogg needed coming off of a 78-43 defeat in their prior game.
Fillmore Central bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Fillmore Central strolled past Wabasha-Kellogg in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 68-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fillmore Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
