Basketball Recap: City of Life Christian Academy Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

City of Life Christian Academy won the last time they faced Legacy Charter, and Abigail Squires did her part to make sure it happened again. The City of Life Christian Academy Warriors put the hurt on the Legacy Charter Eagles with a sharp 38-17 victory on Friday thanks in part to Squires, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Valerie Gonzalez, who posted four points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

City of Life Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points per game. As for Legacy Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. City of Life Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Celebration at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Legacy Charter will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Oasis Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Legacy Charter's defense has only allowed 25.3 points per game this season, so Oasis Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
