SALEM, Ore. -
McNary (Keizer, Ore.) took an early lead against
South Salem (Salem, Ore.) and held on for a 31-15 victory on Saturday.
The Celtics scored 10 points in the first quarter. McNary scored on a field goal by
Hayden Mccowan and a touchdown run by
Kyle Torres.
After taking the lead on a Torres touchdown run in the first quarter, MHS led 17-9 at the half.
The Keizer school grew its lead to nine points entering the fourth quarter. The Celtics scored once in the quarter on a
Brett Hildebrand touchdown run.
McNary got revenge for last year's 21-13 loss to the Saxons with the victory.
South Salem (2-3) goes up against Sprague in a 6A Central Valley game matchup next week, while McNary (3-2) locks horns with North Salem also in a 6A Central Valley game.
