Patrick Henry will head out to face off against Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Patrick Henry's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
If Patrick Henry beats Christian with four runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Patriots never let Academy of Our Lady of Peace get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.
Not much got past Zoe Rutherford, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Academy of Our Lady of Peace off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Izzy Ervin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Rachel Earner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 7-3 to Point Loma.
Christian also got a good showing from Sienna Staite, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Staite has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Baca, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Tyler Krystek, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Patrick Henry's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Christian, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 18-5-1.
Patrick Henry couldn't quite finish off Christian in their previous meeting back in April and fell 2-0. Can Patrick Henry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
