Softball Recap: Pelham Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

While Pelham put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Russellville. Pelham blew past Russellville 8-0. Considering the Panthers have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Laini Stewart was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Jordan Young was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Pelham pushed their record up to 6-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Russellville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Pelham will take on Marion at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Russellville, they will square off against John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
