The Walkertown Wolfpack pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 80-66 to Reidsville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), Walkertown still had to take the loss.
Defeat or not, Walkertown got some senior leadership from Jaylen Wilkerson and Jaden Tyson. Wilkerson scored 20 points along with six assists, while Tyson. scored 17 points along with six assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kady'n Turner-Scott, who scored ten points.
Reidsville was led to victory by Dionte Neal and Kendre Harrison. Neal dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 assists, while Harrison dropped a double-double on 27 points and 31 rebounds. Harrison is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Cam'Ron Jones was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Walkertown's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for Reidsville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Walkertown will head out on the road to take on the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Forsyth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Wolfpack are ranked 99th). As for Reidsville, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. McMichael has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 302 points over their last five matchups.
