Greenbrier West extended the longest winning streak in Coalfield A this week by beating Magnolia, 21-14. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Cavaliers.
Greenbrier West made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,177 from 3,682. The improvement was the result of a 21-14 victory over the Blue Eagles last week.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Lewis Mcclung's team's Malik Boatwright and Dustin Yoakum have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-8 quarterback Boatwright has thrown for 639 yards this season, while Yoakum has 19 catches for 248 yards. Meadow Bridge's Jacob Parker leads the league in rushing yards with 2,505.
Boatwright broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 66-yard run against Magnolia. The Cavaliers bested the Blue Eagles, Boatwright finishing the game with 163 yards rushing.
