Plymouth Whitemarsh extended the longest winning streak in Suburban One - American this week by beating Upper Dublin, 42-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Colonials.
Wissahickon took down Norristown 42-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Upper Merion Area's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Carmen Fortino threw for 176 and two touchdowns and Connor McGrath had 84 yards receiving. On the ground Hassan Gardner chipped in 208 yards. Evon Dixon helped Upper Merion Area's passing attack out by catching three balls for 62 yards.
The Vikings' Fortino and McGrath have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Fortino has thrown for 1363 yards this season, while McGrath, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 24 catches for 449 yards. Corey Kelly from Plymouth Whitemarsh leads the league in rushing with 1178 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Upper Moreland takes on the Trojans. The Bears are in third place, while Wissahickon is in second place.
Cheltenham led Suburban One - American in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Upper Merion Area.
