The Cloquet Lumberjacks pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Crosby-Ironton by a score of 65-63. While losing is never fun, Cloquet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Crosby-Ironton is ranked 42nd).
Noah Larson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Crosby-Ironton, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Mount, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Cloquet's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Crosby-Ironton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cloquet will take on Hermantown at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hermantown's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Crosby-Ironton, they will play host again and welcome Greenway, where tip off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Greenway will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
