Softball Recap: Sullivan Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Sullivan never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Brown County Eagles with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Arrows, who have now won seven matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mylee Vandevender made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Vandevender was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Addie Fosdick was a standout: she fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jaylynn Hobbs, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Sullivan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brown County struck out seven times.

Sullivan has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Brown County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sullivan will face off against South Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Arrows' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Brown County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Bloomington South at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
