Sadly, the Cedar Creek Christian Saints are still looking for their first win of the season after ten contests. They took a hard 62-46 fall against Beacon of Hope Christian on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cedar Creek Christian in their matchups with Beacon of Hope Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Beacon of Hope Christian was led to victory by Trisdan Fuller and Marquis Sams. Fuller dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Sams dropped a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Sams pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Wyatt, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Cedar Creek Christian dropped their record down to 0-10 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Beacon of Hope Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.
Cedar Creek Christian will head out on the road to square off against St. Johns Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Johns Country Day will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Cedar Creek Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Beacon of Hope Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Family Christian Center at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Beacon of Hope Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
