Dayton came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Santiam Christian Eagles. Considering the Pirates have won 15 contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dayton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.0 runs over those games. As for Santiam Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Dayton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
