Crosspoint Christian is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat New Life Christian 68-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for Crosspoint Christian.
Payton Lauth was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 22 rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Asher Weldy, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals.
Crosspoint Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Heritage Classical Christian Academy's game on Tuesday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis 52-46.
Crosspoint Christian will have to contain Luke Heskett as he made an impact in Heritage Classical Christian Academy's last game. He dropped a double-double on 30 points and 18 boards. Heskett is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Gray, who posted nine points in addition to six boards and three steals.
Crosspoint Christian pushed their record up to 5-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Heritage Classical Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-3 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Crosspoint Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 39.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Heritage Classical Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.8 boards.
