Payton Noll and Kendall Stancovich made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Noll tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Stancovich pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Noll went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Stancovich got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Stancovich has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Adasyn Trusik was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikaila McCoy, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-13. As for United, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Looking ahead, United will take on Ferndale at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Portage will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' matchup: after the Lions face off against the Yellow Jackets, they'll take on Portage again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
