After a string of three wins, BASIS - Peoria's good fortune finally ran out last Wednesday. They took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of BASIS - Mesa.
El Dorado has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 32 points or more this season. They took their matchup at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 89-56 victory over ASU Prep Poly. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-27.
El Dorado got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mikai Phipps out in front who scored 39 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Phipps has scored at least 25% of El Dorado's points. Another player making a difference was Kamari Brown, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 11 assists, and 11 steals.
BASIS - Peoria's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for El Dorado, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
