Volleyball Recap: Southwest Gets the Win

Southwest won the last time they faced Decatur Community and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Roughriders walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Red Devils. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Roughriders.

While Southwest won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24.

Kyra Nelms paced Southwest's offense, picking up 16 kills. Nelms got some help from Aspen Billeter and her 25 assists.

Southwest's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Decatur Community, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Southwest will head out on the road to challenge Alma on Thursday. As for Decatur Community, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against St. Francis on the 30th.
