The Columbia Central Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Summit Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Summit took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbia Central, who comes in off a win.
Columbia Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 31 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Hickman County 66-26 on the road. Given Columbia Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Hickman County is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Saviya Morgan, who scored 16 points along with 8 steals. Morgan is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anaya Mulholland, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Summit came up short against Upperman on Friday and fell 43-30.
Blackman's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Columbia Central's loss dropped theirs to 6-1.
Columbia Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Summit when the teams last played back in November, winning 48-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Columbia Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
