Mahomet-Seymour has gone a perfect 10-0 against Prairie Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mahomet-Seymour has four straight wins, Prairie Central has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Mahomet-Seymour's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Heyworth.

Prairie Central couldn't beat Maroa-Forsyth on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Hawks fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 7-6.

Prairie Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Friedman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Friedman has become a key player for the Hawks: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-21 otherwise.

Mahomet-Seymour's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Prairie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-22.

Mahomet-Seymour took their win against Prairie Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
