The North Polar Bears put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Burncoat on the road to the tune of 69-41. Considering North has won six matches by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
When it comes to explaining why Burncoat lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Mwangi. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyton Marshall, who scored seven points.
North pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points per game. As for Burncoat, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North will take on South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while North is ranked second). As for Burncoat, they will head out on the road to face off against Doherty Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Doherty Memorial is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
