According to a
report by Travis Branham of 247Sports, one-armed high school basketball star
Hansel Enmanuel of
Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee, Fla.) has earned a scholarship offer from Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway.
The 6-foot-6 senior guard also holds offers from Bethune-Cookman and Tennessee State, according to Branham.
Enmanuel began gaining nationwide attention last summer with his inspiring, athletic play and highlight dunks. He backed up the hype by winning the dunk contest at the prestigious City of Palms Classic in December (see the video).
A native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Enmanuel arrived at Life Christian Academy in January 2021. A
Wikipedia page devoted to his career explains that he lost his left arm at age six when a cinderblock wall collapsed on him and trapped him for two hours.
