Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Black Has No Trouble Against Dunedin

IMG Academy Black won the last time they faced Dunedin and things went their way on Tuesday too. IMG Academy Black put the hurt on Dunedin with a sharp 16-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Ascenders, who have now won 11 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Romolo DeCenzo looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, IMG Academy Black let Sebastian Wilson and Frankie Thomas run wild. Wilson went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Thomas got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those six RBI gave Wilson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Diaz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

IMG Academy Black kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

IMG Academy Black's record now sits at 15-2. As for Dunedin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. IMG Academy Black will take on Grove City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dunedin, they will square off against Countryside at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Countryside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Dunedin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
