The Atlanta Huskies lost against the Central Lake Trojans back in October of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Atlanta's tough 36-12 loss to Central Lake might stick with them for a while. Atlanta has struggled against Central Lake recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Atlanta's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Galea, who picked up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Central Lake had a senior duo take command as Garrison Barrett rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries and Drayten Evans rushed for 223 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Barrett was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.
Atlanta's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Central Lake, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Atlanta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central Lake will head out on the road to face off against St.Ignace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St.Ignace is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
