The Messmer Bishops's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Lake Country Lutheran 112-78. Messmer has not had much luck with Lake Country Lutheran recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Sam Hans was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 17 rebounds for Lake Country Lutheran. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hans has scored all season. Ethan Hans was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Messmer has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Lake Country Lutheran, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Messmer will take on Brookfield Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Country Lutheran, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Luther Prep at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th.
