The Johnson County Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. Their rough 77-54 defeat to Watauga might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Johnson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 330th in Tennessee, while Watauga is ranked 157th in North Carolina).
Josiah Railey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Watauga, scoring 25 points along with five steals and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Pryor, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Johnson County bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Watauga, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Johnson County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pine Lake Prep at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th. As for Watauga, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on North Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th.
