The Huss Huskies will be playing at home against the Stuart W. Cramer Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Huss' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
Huss scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Mecklenburg 77-47 at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Huss' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Satchelle Pettis, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Damontia Duff, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Stuart W. Cramer pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 82-56 walloping at the hands of Crest. While losing is never fun, Stuart W. Cramer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Crest is ranked 42nd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Taelan Whitley, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two blocks. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. Kingston Womack was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Huss has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Huss beat Stuart W. Cramer 59-50 when the teams last played back in January. Does Huss have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stuart W. Cramer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
