After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jackson, the Ellet Orangemen were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Loudonville by a score of 73-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ellet was led to victory by Caitlyn Holmes and Sanaiiya Gray. Holmes scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Gray dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Holmes has scored at least a third of Ellet's points. Another player making a difference was Jaeda Tavares, who scored 14 points.
Ellet pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Loudonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-2.
Ellet will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lake at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Ellet focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday. Loudonville is on the road again on Saturday and plays East Knox at 1:30 p.m. on February 10th. One thing working in Loudonville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
