Baseball Recap: Choctawhatchee Comes Up Short

Choctawhatchee lost against Escambia last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Choctawhatchee fell just short of Escambia by a score of 9-8. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gant Folendore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Choctawhatchee's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-3 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Keeson Wheeler, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

Choctawhatchee's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Escambia, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.

Looking ahead, Choctawhatchee will challenge Hopkinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Escambia, they will head out on the road to face off against Navarre at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
