New Kent has won nine straight games at home, while Warhill has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Trojans will welcome the Lions at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (New Kent 2.7, Warhill 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While New Kent's win against Jamestown wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since May 20, 2024.

Abbie Kegley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Sierra Carter looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Cassidy Branch, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Wiles, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Warhill never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Grafton.
The result came thanks to Skyler Wilson's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Warhill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Jacobs, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
New Kent is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Warhill, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. New Kent hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. However, it's not like Warhill struggles in that department as they've averaged .420. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
New Kent couldn't quite finish off Warhill when the teams last played back in April and fell 5-3. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
