After flying high against the Manchester Blue Devils last Saturday, the Terrell County Greenwave came back down to earth. Terrell County took a 52-37 bruising from Westover on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Terrell County has scored all season.
Terrell County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keavonte Anderson, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Shaheed Huckaby, who scored eight points.
Westover was led to victory by Anthony Milton and Traveion Wheeler. Milton scored 11 points along with five rebounds, while Wheeler scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Jalen Holmes was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Terrell County has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Westover, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Terrell County will take on Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lee County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Terrell County likes a good challenge. As for Westover, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bainbridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bainbridge and Westover are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
