After a string of four wins, the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Muhlenberg 57-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lampeter-Strasburg came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Muhlenberg is ranked 273rd).
Defeat or not, Lampeter-Strasburg got some senior leadership from Judah White who scored 14 points and Justin Glick who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Yasin Abdi was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Lampeter-Strasburg's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Muhlenberg, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Lampeter-Strasburg will finish 2023 at home by hosting William Penn at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Muhlenberg, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
