The Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals will face off against the Elyria Catholic Panthers at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy has eight straight  victories, Elyria Catholic has three straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy was fully in charge, breezing past Padua Franciscan 42-7. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 28  points or more this season.

 Charley Levak produced another solid  performance rushing for 98 yards and one  touchdown on only five carries, while also throwing for 81 yards and three  TDs on only seven passes. That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in October of 2024.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 395  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 188  rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile,  it was a proper cat-fight when Elyria Catholic faced off against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on Friday. The Panthers came up short against  the Lions, falling  45-21. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Lions are ranked 89th).
 Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy will have to keep a close watch on  Corey Armelin and  Mikey Bates Jr, a pair of players who had a big impact on Elyria Catholic's prior game. Armelin rushed for 75 yards and one  score, while  Bates Jr rushed for 81 yards and one  touchdown on only six carries.
 Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Elyria Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Friday's   matchup might be decided on the ground. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season,  having  averaged 322.8  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Elyria Catholic struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 167.9  rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's   game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
