After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Leake Academy, Canton Academy was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They walked away with  a   34-22  win over the North Delta Green Wave. Considering the Panthers' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Despite the loss, North Delta still got an impressive performance from   Gabe Carlisle, who rushed for 61 yards and two  scores. Carlisle also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making six total tackles.
With the  victory, Canton Academy broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. As for North Delta, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  at home.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming  games. Canton Academy will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Discovery Christian at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 24th. As for North Delta, they will square off against Kirk Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. This will  be the Green Wave's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
