Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies walked away with it. They blew past the Buccaneers 40-7 on the road. The result was nothing new for Hewitt-Trussville, who have now won eight contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Peyton Floyd, who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Jadon Loving also helped out with an impressive 120 receiving yards.
The win was the third in a row for Hewitt-Trussville, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.67 points. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Hewitt-Trussville will take on Thompson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thompson is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Hoover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
