Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Randolph County Tigers walked away with it. They walked away with a 48-36 victory over W.S. Neal on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Randolph County as they're now sitting on four straight.
Randolph County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maurice Winston, who rushed for 137 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Winston was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Avion Willis was another key contributor, rushing for 155 yards on only six carries.
Randolph County's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for W.S. Neal, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.
Randolph County will head out on the road to face off against Saint James at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saint James is on a three-game streak of home wins, Randolph County a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. W.S. Neal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
